Dertien Hectare, Agricola Novus
May 17th, 2012The weather was nice, so i biked my way to Dertien Hectare in Heeswijk-Dinther where Joep van Lieshout showed his new world order, Agricola Novas. It is a great show although in the Hagioscoop i had the feeling that Fred and Barney could pop up any moment. But it’s like this elderly couple said to me in response to my Maurice de Hond-tje, it’s the symbolism that is striking and the sculptures, they stand their ground in this beautiful environment. De tentoonstelling ontleend haar titel aan de gelijknamige tekst van Boris Groys uit 2009. “Ours is a time in which we reconsider – not abandon, not reject, but analyse and reconsider – the modern projects”, in zijn tekst pleit Groys voor een herbezinning op de hedendaagse vooruitgang, geen afwijzing, geen omarming, maar een herbezinning. Comrades of Time is een tentoonstelling specifiek over de vraag naar de hernieuwde positie van canonieke kunstvormen - schilderen, tekenen, sculptuur - in een genetwerkte en gemedieerde omgeving.
